Description
The Skin as Part of the Design
The construction of the Deccan also depends on a precise and deliberate placement of the skins.
We work with the natural structure of the crocodile rather than against it, selecting each section according to the scale size and the role it will play in the garment. Larger scales are used across the principal panels, while finer areas naturally follow the shoulders, sleeves, collar, and selected sections of the back
This approach allows the scale pattern to become part of the architecture of the jacket itself.
The front is punctuated by patch pockets and a restrained button closure, while the standing collar reinforces the vertical quality of the silhouette. From the back, the piece reveals even more of the graphic character of the skin, with changes in scale size creating an almost architectural rhythm.
Malachite Green
We chose Malachite Green for its depth and singularity.
It works naturally with black, charcoal gray, ecru, deep brown, and selected tobacco tones. Worn with an otherwise understated silhouette, the Deccan naturally becomes the focal point.
With this jacket, our intention is not simply to display the rarity of the material, but to explore what crocodile leather can offer in terms of texture, color, structure, and construction.
